About Highestwire

Welcome to the new and improved Highestwire!

Highestwire.com is a not-for-profit news wire service run through The University of Michigan's Interactive Communications and Simulations Group. Highestwire was originally intended to be a news wire service for high school newspapers, but now also includes publications and articles by college students, civic groups, political organizations, fiction writers' clubs, sports organizations--you name it. As long as you're writing good stuff, you're all right with us.

You can submit stories directly to the wire, or you can start your own publication by logging in and using the toolbar to the left. The only cost is intellectual: when you publish something on Highestwire or one of its affiliate sites, you're agreeing that we can republish it for a larger audience on the wire.

Please note, articles and writing submitted to HighestWire are subject to editing by the editors. While the editors may change sentence structure, grammar, or make other types of corrections, they will not change the meaning of your statements, nor will they fact-check statements. Fact-checking is the author's responsibility.

If you have questions, please contact Karen Schwartz, the editor-in-chief, at highestwire@gmail.com.

Good writing!
